Welcome to Dunster Village
Set between the foothills of Exmoor National Park and the Somerset coast, Dunster is probably the largest and most intact medieval village in England. We are a national treasure!
Dominated by Dunster Castle, Dunster has a wealth of history to discover, including the iconic Yarn Market, the remains of a Benedictine priory, a Working Watermill, Packhorse Bridge and Iron Age settlements. It has such a fascinating history, Time Team Dig Village chose it as its first village to investigate!
Dunster is a very special and unique place. From the village you can take a number of stunning walks into the Exmoor hills and it makes a great base to explore the rest of Exmoor and Devon.
Watch the NEW Dunster Streaming Webcam!

The Discover Dunster branding was funded by the COOL tourism project,
an Interreg IVA France (Channel) – England European cross-border co-operation programme and co-financed by ERDF.
The new webcam and other initiatives in the village have been funded by Somerset West and Taunton to help Dunster build back better after Covid. As part of this will be a new look website - coming in early 2021.
